About the Author

I started reading and writing after I stopped listening, literally. My hearing vanished at the age of five, and hearing aids somewhat helped me relearn the world of sound, but I still found things overwhelming. To cope, I turned to books and imagination. On the bookshelves of my childhood home were old copies of L. Frank Baum’s Wizard of Oz series and Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, and I read those books over and over all while dreaming of finding that magical entrance that would allow me to slip into another world. To this day, I still love reading books that will take me to new and different worlds.

I’m a freelance writer and editor by day. At night, I herd kids alongside with my husband.
